Always wanted to do this .. especially in a boat like this. Built a Shearwater 39 and crossed the Atlantic as part of the Cape to Rio race, and returned via Tristan da Cunha .. that was my sea trial. But never made the solo thing. YOU DID IT .. that’s so cool .. loved this ❤️

These dudes sail around the world nonstop with no watermaker. But these RUclipsr's cant even cruise the Bahamas without one.

How do you prevent a Jordan series drogue getting caught around and ripping off the rudder of the auxiliary rudder system when deployed? Given that you wouldn't go into the Southern Ocean without a Jordan series drogue, surely a servo pendulum type windvane where you can raise the windvane's rudder out of the way of the Jordan series drogue's bridles prior to deployment of the drogue would be a far better and safer choice

The rudder system better .plus 2 rudders encase one breaks

I am high voltage commissioning engineer and it's far more dangerous but I respect what you are doing.I am thinking on becoming a sailor now it's in my category of danger only because it's always adventure but I don't like boring electrocution. I like the bit when the female commentator complimented the men and almost choked on it, obviously I can see why we are too overconfident. Why do it I soppose it's pure adventure but sounds boring why would you try if you couldn't stay somewhere. Just to have a good time. I think they should pick a place they want to go. The best is it was designed to finish and sank in relatively calm seas, that's terrible for the esteem of current designers, I wouldn't believe it if I was sleeping and woke up in water 💦.Damn these guys need to buck up because it seems like they lost the plot. Trust is pretty peculiar at sea. You need to trust certain aspects because you need to concentrate on the rest. Must of been really hard on everyone psychology wise with this happening. It's terrible mentally draining just think on that this is the titanic

I'm late to the dance, only hearing about this as I was trying to find solace, following references to succor for my feeling of great loss at Jimmy Buffet's passing. And I found a profound sense of peace from reading about Ms Neuschafer and her adventure. Having followed Jimmy and his creation of Margaritaville's unique utopian escapism since the 70s, I found myself foundering. Then I heard Lennie Gallant's "On the Minnehaha" and was intrigued; I wanted to understand it more. This was when a new world opened to me, one that permitted me to see that Jimmy's passing, as gut-wrenching as it was, was not an end but a continuation as long as there were people like Ms. Neuschafer and Lennie Gallant to carry the message of hope, that where there is hard work and hard play, worthy goals, we can still reap benefits from pursuing that of what we can dream.
